"While you're out there, look under the rocks" was the gist of the brief for this new column. So here goes ... AFTER 30 YEARS OF promoting, defending and writing about the wood business, I should have been better prepared. But when you've got a great idea, you never think for a moment that it might struggleto get off the ground. I am talking about our new high-end magazine for architects and designers called timberDESIGN Australasia. It was launched in mid-October, but only after a year of blood, sweat and tears. And if it hadn't been for the far-sighted people at the Forest and Wood Products Research and Development Corporation (FWPRDC) in Australia, it certainly would not have got airborne.
