The Water Quest program was developed by Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District in Utah (JVWCD) as far back as 2003 to demonstrate principles of water-wise landscaping. The program follows a family's quest to save water on their landscape. The thinking behind the program was that each year a different family retrofits their all-turf front yard to water-wise landscaping with water use being metered and the results being compared with records from previous years to show water savings.
