FROM THE PRESIDENTS OFFICE

As I commence writing this page I have just finished nine consecutive working days engaged on ABE activities ranging from Committee meetings through seminars and receptions to formal dinners. Of these, a number warrant some additional comments. The last of my Presidential seminars took place near Bournemouth and was well received by those present. I was also pleased to meet with members from the area and to be able to provide them with some useful information. The following day was the President's Reception at the House of Lords in London during which I presented the Peter Stone Award to Michael Finn. It also gave me great personal pleasure to present a special award to Ann Rosemarie Everton for her invaluable contributions to academic and legislative development in the area of fire safety.
