Tube Lines, the company rebuilding the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines which together carry 40 percent of all passengers on the London Underground, has appointed Brian Sedar as its new Director of Projects. He succeeds Ian Copeland who has led the Projects directorate since November 2005. As Director of Projects, Brian has overall responsibility for delivering the large-scale improvement projects across the three lines. He joins Tube Lines at a time when the company has cemented its reputation for strong delivery of its 2.2 billion pounds capital investment programme; 47 stations have now been upgraded with the overall budget reduced by as much as 38 percent from when the company first took over the work; over 90km of track has been replaced or refurbished in line with the planned schedule and the line upgrades are progressing well.
