A fun new interactive website is offering construction industry the opportunity to play the regs, showing within minutes what combination of specifications achieve a pass or fail against the latest energy regulations for new homes that came into effect in April. Developed by the National Home Energy Rating (NHER) scheme in association with the Construction Products Association (CPA), the site can be found at www.playtheregs.com The website is free for the whole construction industry to use as a quick modelling tool. It allows users to change 15 different parameters and key criteria on two very generic house types (a four bed detached house and a two bed mid-floor flat), and then to see an instant pass or fail under the new Part L carbon targets that apply to new dwellings.
