摘要

Doing business in China is difficult for North American pulp and paper companies while suppliers of logs, chips and lumber see a brighter outlook, according to CEOs speaking last week at RISI's 25th annual North American Forest Products Conference in Boston. China eclipsed the US as the world's largest paper and paperboard producer by a small amount in 2008 and in 2009 was fully 18% higher with about 95 million short tons of output compared with the US. (US production declined 15% from 2005 to 2009 and surged 53% in China over the same period.)
