Dimitrios G. Oreopoulos (1936-2012).

The world of Nephrology has lost one of its giants on April 25, 2012 with the passing of Dimitrios G. Oreopoulos, M.D. (Athens), Ph.D. (Belfast), FRCPC, FACP, FRCP (Glasgow). He was the Editor-in-Chief of International Urology and Nephrology for more than ten years. He was instrumental in guiding this journal to greater heights, a level never achieved in the past. He was a well-loved and respected colleague. Although we will miss him, the mark he left on this journal remains with us.
