IC APPOINTS NEW MEMBERS OF ITS LEADERSHIP TEAM

The Construction Industry Council has appointed Gordon Masterton OBE, Vice-President of Jacobs Engineering Group Inc, one of the world's Largest and most diverse providers of professional technical services, as its new Deputy Chairman. Gordon succeeds the Rt. Hon Nick Raynsford MP in this role, which starts with immediate effect. He will succeed Keith Clarke as Chairman, for a two-year term, starting in June 2010. Gordon is a civil and structural engineer and has international experience in major infrastructure projects. He is a graduate of Edinburgh University, the Open University and Imperial College, London, and the author of over 40 technical papers on buildings, bridges, tunnels and the history of civil engineering. He served as President of the Institution of Civil Engineers in 2005-06. In 2008 he was awarded an OBE for services to civil engineering in Scotland.
