摘要

Australia is a country rich with mineral resourcesand is home of a large number of mineral ventures in hard rock andsoft rock areas. Eastern states have a concentration of coal minesand Western Australia have a number of gold, nickel, and iron oremines. Use of simulation (discrete event) in modeling the miningsystems is commonly used during mine design phases to evaluatevarious operational scenarios. System modeling has been limitedto large companies with a good size of technical services staff.Routine evaluation of haulage system is done in house usingcomputer packages such as TALPAC. A review of some of thework that has been done in Australia is presented.
