CASE IN POINTS--RIGHTS TO LIGHT

When I was first asked to write a review of this book, and before I even saw it, I started composing in my head what I would write because I needed to be clear in my own mind how I would approach the problem. After the first obvious criteria about fairness and objectivity, I concluded that I should start with my view of whether I would find the book of use to me personally. Unfortunately, as a person for whom right of light cases are the bulk of my work, having read it, I concluded it would not be of any great value compared with other literature on the subject albeit that I found a book with similar detail to be of use when I first started dealing with right of light matters 30 years ago. My first conclusion therefore is that this book is probably of little use to anyone who already deals with right of light matters but, to be fair to the RICS and the authors, I don't think they intended that such people would be their target readership anyway.
