Electrophysiology can be considered as one of the fundamental experimental techniques in psychophysiological research. Although more than a century old, it is still widely used, and its popularity is far from declining. The search engine SCOPUS yields nearly six thousand articles published with the keyword "electrophysiology" in 2011; this is almost twice as many as those with the more recent keyword-"fMRI". Moreover, the use of electrophysiology in neuro-science and psychophysiology is still growing; just ten years ago, there were only 4500 articles. No doubt, this increasing trend corresponds to the lasting vitality of the technique. For example, in the realm of EEG analysis, the last two decades brought several new ways of approaching the data, including independent component analysis, multivariate analysis, and source modeling techniques.
