Can Electric Heating Replace Gas-Fired Furnaces? Swedish Research Project Seeks Answers

The goal is to reduce CO_2 emissions through improved energy efficiency and reduced loss of material. Jernkontoret, the Swedish steel producers' association, will host the project. The association says the research has the potential to create a competitive advantage for Swedish steel companies on the global market. Members in the project are Kanthal, SSAB, Outokumpu, Uddeholms, Ovako and Linde.
