THE INFLUENCE OF VELOCITY DISTRIBUTION BEHIND PIPE SUDDEN EXPANSION ON THE VALUES OF THE RESISTANCE COEFFICIENTS
Energy losses caused by pipe sudden expansion d/D =(0,35;0,82)were found experimentally for water flows with Reynolds numbers in the range of Re_d e implied by(2000;50 000).The dependence of the resistance coefficient zeta_d on the Reynolds number Re_d and the flow zone in which zeta_d = zeta_d(Re_d)were determined.Exploring the velocity distribution in a neighbourhood of such resistance made it possible to find factors having an decisive effect on stream destabilization and local losses.
