Optical biometry precision is an essential parameter for any cataract or refractive surgery. Current estimates in the United States approximate that 40% to 46% of people older than the age of 75 years have vision loss of 20/30 or worse as a result of cataracts,1 and that this number is expected to increase by 60% over the next 15 years.2 Demand has often driven science. Over the last 20 years there has been significant research and development invested not only in the variety of lens options for cataract patients, but also in the science behind determining which lens best suits a patient.
