I never cease to be amazed when visiting golf clubs throughout Europe just how little business-type thinking goes into managing and marketing the golf facility. In particular, I meet many successful businessmen who, although directing management of the course, seemingly do not appreciate that managing the golf facility involves not just the management. of the greens and tees but the out of play areas as well. It is the brand offering that attracts new golfers, not just the promise of excellent putting surfaces.
