Thirty-nine of the 67 users (58%) recording satisfactory/good results reduced their nitrogen input in the order of 25-50% after using biological products. Six percent of these same 'good results' users kept applying the same amount of nitrogen and only two users (3%) reported an increase in N application. The remaining 22 questionnaire replies (33%) did not answer this question. In contrast, 12 of the 20 bio-product users (60%) with pooril results used the same amount of nitrogen, only one (5%) recorded an increase, one (5%) recorded a decrease and six (30%) did not reply to this question.
