Every occupation has it's jargon. Turf management is no exception. Some consider the use of, for example, Latin names when discussing grass species as an attempt to blind the layman with science. To a degree this may be true but there is a sound reason behind the use of technical language when considering sports turf management: we all need to speak the same language and that language must relate specific information.
