Lundin Hits Oil Pay at Avaldsnes Appraisal

Lundin Petroleum said the sidetrack (16/2-7A) of the second appraisalwell in Avaldsnes field has confirmed excellent quality oil bearing Upper Jurassic sandstone reservoir.Located in Norwegian sector license PL501, the well encountered a gross reservoir column of 25 m of which 17 m net was above the oil water contact. A comprehensive coring and logging program has been performed, which has confirmed excellent quality reservoir characteristics similar to the Avaldsnes discovery and appraisal wells.
