Combined interscalene-superficial cervical plexus blocks for surgical repair of a clavicular fracture in a 15-week pregnant woman

The use of general anesthesia for non-obstetric surgery is associated with maternal hazards such as the potential for a difficult airway, aspiration, and hypoxemia as well as concern for long-term neonatal neurocognitive effects. While successful peripheral nerve blocks have been previously described in pregnant patients, the use of regional anesthesia for repair of a clavicular fracture has not been reported.
