Abu Dhabi National Energy Co. (Taqa) has bought 100% of Dutch DSM Energy, which has European upstream and midstream assets, for ?285 million ($404 million), the companies said Wednesday. Subsidiary Taqa Energy will acquire nonoperating stakes in around 20 producing oil and gas fields in the Dutch North Sea with total output of around 5,000 boe/d in 2008. The output is 85% gas. Taqa Energy also will buy a non-operated 40% interest in pipeline company Noordgastransport (NGT) and three other pipelines. It said the midstream assets account for most of the value.
