Jordan is hoping to finalize its nuclear co- operation agreement with the US before the end of the year — even though it refuses to give up its right to enrich uranium, a Jordan- ian official said Tuesday. Should the agreement be ratified, Jordan would likely award a contract for the con- struction of the country's first nuclear plant at the beginning of next year, Kamal M. Khdier, a planning director with the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC), told In- ternational Oil Daily on the sidelines of a con- ference in Dubai.
