The drive to pin down global energy re- sources will spark a new wave of mergers and acquisitions in former Soviet republics and In- dia next year, consulting firm Deloitte says. State-owned firms will continue their hunt for oil and gas, which began with the Chinese wave of M&A activity in Africa, Asia and now Latin America, Deloitte says in its Energy Predictions 2011 report.
