UK independent Tethys Petroleum says it has signed a contract for initial sales of gas from its Akkulka field in western Kazakhstan that will enable it to achieve positive operat- ing cash flow. Toronto-listed Tethys will sell the gas to trader Asia Gas NG for $38 per thousand cu bic meters, including VAT. The gas is for do- mestic sale and is therefore subject to a 0.05% royalty payment to the Kazakh gov- ernment. The companies have signed a two- year sales agreement, but will review pricing after one year.
