Qatar to Offer Next Deep Gas Block

Qatar will tender its next pre-Khuff gas block "in the next few days," following hard on the heels of the successful award of deep gas acreage earlier this week, Saad al- Kaabi, Qatar Petroleum's (QP) director of oil and gas ventures, told International Oil Daily this week. The offshore Block D will be the third pre-Khuff gas acreage put on offer by the state firm. Al-Kaabi did not give the precise location of the block, which he has previously termed "very good." Pre-Khuff structures in Qatar are found at depths of around 15,000 feet.
