The head of Bolivia's state energy company was fired on Sunday amid allegations of corruption, adding to mounting difficulties that the government faces in its campaign to give the state a larger role in hydrocarbon production. Santos Ramirez, the head of Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales de Bolivia (YPFB), is under investigation for allegedly soliciting a bribe to grant an $86 million contract to Argentine- Bolivian firm Catler Uniservice to build a natural gas processing plant.
