After spending the past few years struggling to drum up private interest in its proposed Jizan refinery, Saudi Arabia finally appears to be having some luck, with Oil Minister Ali Naimi expected to announce the winning bidder in the coming weeks. Officials now say one of the keys to boosting the economics of refining crude at the remote desert location will be the integration of petrochemical units. "Like our policy these days we try to combine refining and petrochemicals units together," Naimi said of Jizan this week.
