Noble Makes New Israel Find

US Noble Energy said Tuesday that results of its Tamar appraisal well in its Matan license off Israel have lifted the Tamar discovery's gross mean resource estimate to 6.3 Tcf, a 26% increase on the previous 5 Tcf estimate (IOD Feb.11,p8). Tamar-2 was drilled about 5 km northeast of the Tamar-1 discovery, made in January, to a depth of 16,880 feet in 5,530 feet of water.
