Thailand's PTTEP is expanding in Australia, farming into three exploration permits held by Woodside Petroleum in the Browse Basin as part of its strategy of investing in "high-potential" acreage. The acquisition of a 20% stake in WA-378-P, WA- 396-P and WA-397-P follows the purchase of the Oliver oil field in the Timor Sea in October (IOD Oct.27,p7).
