Edison Going Cold on Iraq's Akkas Gas Field

Italy's Edison is highly unlikely to make a play for the Akkas gas field in Iraq's Oct. 20 gas tender because it is struggling to justify the economics of the project, industry sources said. “There is a strong possibility that Edison will not bid,” said a source close to the nego- tiations. “The company is not sure it can nar- row the distance between Baghdad's pay- ment terms and what it wants to be paid for its services.”
