September gas futures plunged more then 16￠ Friday, establishing a new 11-month low as it rolled off the board in the mid-$3.60s. This marked the eighth straight down session for natural gas, its longest losing streak in a year. The drivers: moderating summer demand, the absence of Gulf of Mexico hurricane activity, mounting concerns about the health of the US economy and forecasts of a relatively warm winter.
