摘要

Monoglycerides from feed are absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and transferred to the blood. In lactating sows, these monoglycerides are excreted in the milk and have beneficial effects on newborn piglets. Especially I -monobutyrin and I -monopro-pionin added to the diet of the sow have been shown to improve piglet health and production parameters. Normally, sow's milk contains less than I Og monobutyrin per kg. Adding monobutyrin to the feed of sows increases this concentration, as was shown in a trial by Framelco in The Netherlands. Sows received a diet with 2.25g Fra LAC34 per kg dry matter, before farrowing. At 24 hours after farrowing, milk samples were taken from three sows.
