Coccidiosis is being acknowledged as a major disease that has a significant negative impact on the swine sector, not as a result of high mortality, but as a condition that erodes swine production parameters and the economic results for the producers.Reports about the presence, prevalence and epidemiology of piglet coccidiosis caused by Isospora suis have arrived from different parts of the world. The results of these investigations demonstrate a high farm prevalence of the disease in most of the reporting countries (45-90%), as well as a high incidence of litters affected by the disease (>30%).
