The swine sector has grown up dramatically in the past decade Pigs are developed for better genetics including faster growth, more lean and production. These pigs, however, tend to be more susceptible to stresses. The stressed pigs are also susceptible to diseases. Therefore, intensive farm management is required to protect those pigs from any stresses and infections. Farm performance indices have been well documented as a tool for a herd monitoring system. Pig production systems can be divided intothree major units - the breeding unit, the nursery unit and the grower-finisher unit. The breeding unit is composed of breeding, gestation and farrowing sections.
