Importance of vitamins in Asian Pig Production

The future demand of pig-meat products in Asia looks promising. Good nutrition and animal husbandry is one of the many important factors that can raise the productivity and efficiency of Asian pig production. The importance of vitamins in optimising health, productivity and food quality in pig production cannot be ignored. Vitamins must be present in sufficient quantities in the pig diet to ensure other nutrients are being utilised in an efficient manner for health, maintenance and production functions. Vitamin deficiencies are very rare nowadays but less than optimum performance is frequently observed under Asian commercial production conditions.
