Addax Hails Gabon Success

Canada's Addax Petroleum on Friday announced the successful appraisal and development of the Ebouri field in the Etame Marin license area off Gabon. Addax has a 31.36% nonoperated interest in the area; the operator is US independent Vaalco.Addax said it is set to bring another production well in Ebouri on stream as soon as possible, adding that the North Ebouri appraisal well hit a gross oil column of 21 feet. The North Ebouri well, one of three wells drilled at Ebouri recently, lies about 2.5 km northeast of the Ebouri platform and was drilled by the Pride Cabinda jackup rig. A deviated sidetrack well is being drilled to decide the best location for a potential second horizontal development well.
