Chevron Delays Vietnam Gas

Lengthy negotiations between US Chevron and state Petrovietnam over gas sales prices have again pushed back the planned start of production from gas blocks off southwestern Vietnam, this time to late 2014. A Chevron official in Hanoi confirmed a local newspaper report saying output from the Malay Basin project will be delayed two years. The original start-up date of end-2010 had already been pushed back by one or two years.
