The vice minister of the powerful National Development and Reform Commission, Zhang Guobao, said on national television Wednesday that PetroChina is looking to import 700 million cubic meters, or around 24.7 billion cubic feet, of gas in the form of LNG to increase supplies in eastern and southern China, including Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Fujian provinces.
