Petrobras, Chinese Oil Firms Look to Expand Their Collaboration

Media coverage of the emerging energy relationship between Brazil and China has centered mostly - for good reason - on the $10 billion oil-for-loan deal signed between the two countries this year. The two countries agreed in May that the China Development Bank would provide the huge credit line to state-controlled Petrobras. In exchange, Brazil pledged to deliver 150,000 barrels per day of crude to China during the deal's first year and 200,000 b/d for the subsequent nine-year period.
