Austria's OMV Needs Acquisitions to Sustain Upstream Growth

Austria's OMV will have to rely on acquisitions to grow its upstream production in the next decade as the company's growth from its existing asset base will grind to a halt next year, Chief Executive Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer said on Friday. OMV is still targeting 350,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2010, compared with current output of around 317,000 boe/d.
