Petrovietnam Finds Gas

Petrovietnam said Monday that its Hac Long field in offshore Blocks 103 and 107 tested at around 14.2 MMcf/d of gas, Reuters reported. The block is in the Red River Basin off northern Vietnam, and the state firm's exploration arm, PVEP, says it is the biggest producing field in the region. Most of Vietnam's producing oil and gas fields are off the southern coast and the country is now trying to find reserves in the north (IOD Feb.11,p3).
