Total Sets Sights on Block in Oman’s New License Round

Total plans to bid for one of the 11 ex- ploration blocks that Oman intends to put out to tender before the end of May. The French major’s country exploration manager, Bertrand Huillard, tells Interna- tional Oil Daily that Total is interested in one of the two offshore blocks going on of- fer. The French firm is part of the Royal Dutch Shell-led Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) consortium that holds the giant Block 6 concession, but has no ex- ploration blocks of its own. Partex, the other non-government partner in PDO, will bid for up to two blocks, company sources have told the Omani media.
