Nabors Buys Superior Services

The world’s largest onshore drilling contractor Nabors Industries is expanding it oil and gas service capabilities by acquiring Superior Well Services Inc. for about $900 million in cash, including assumed debt. In particular, the deal will give Nabors a presence in the pressure pumping business, which includes hydraulic fracturing of shales and other “tight” rock formations to allow hydrocarbons to flow more easily.
