Dominion Gets Uganda Nod

US independent Dominion Petroleum has won Ugandan government backing to drill its first exploration well, Ngaji-1, on Block EA4B in Lake Edward Basin (IOD Mar.23,p6). Dominion expects to spud the wildcat, al- so known as the Silverback Gorilla, in June, followed by more seismic acquisition later this year. Ngaji-1 has been estimated to hold up to 100 million boe of potential reserves, according to an independent assessment. To- gether, the four prospects identified within the EA4B license could hold over 350 mil- lion boe of reserves.
