Iraq and Angolan state Sonangol signed final contracts Tuesday to tap the Qayara and Najmah oil fields that were awarded in Baghdad's second licensing round last month. Sonangol secured the deals by offering to boost Najmah to 110,000 b/d for payment of $6/bbl and to lift Qayara to 120,000 b/d for a fee of $5/bbl. The fields are located in the restive Nineveh province in northern Iraq.
