Korean Firm Buys US Assets

South Korean investment company Atinum Partners said Monday it has closed the acquisition of Sterling Energy USA and Sterling Energy, formerly owned by UK-based Sterling Energy for $90 million and renamed the venture Atinum E&P. Atinum E&P has working interests in approximately 200 active wells in Texas, Texas state waters and onshore Louisiana. Current production exceeds 24 MMcf/d of gas equivalent with total proved reserves of approximately 53 Bcfe and probable reserves of 41 Bcfe.
