Eni Eyes 2010 for Pipe FID

Eni Chief Executive Paolo Scaroni said Friday that the Italian oil firm will take a final investment decision (FID) on the South Stream gas pipeline next year. Eni is working with Russia's Gazprom on the 63 Bcm/yr pipe, designed to pump Russian gas under the Black Sea to southern Europe. Scaroni said Eni will "evaluate with attention" a request by French utility EDF to join.
