MARKET EYE: Chinese Oil Demand Slides 6%

Apparent oil demand in China was about 6% lower in the first two months of 2009 than 12 months earlier. Calculations of key output and export figures released this week by the Chinese customs bureau indicate overall demand averaged about 7.16 million barrels per day in January and February.
