Germany's E.On Finally Gets Stake in Giant Russian Gas Field

After more than four years of complicated talks, Russia's Gazprom has finally sealed an accord to hand 25% of the giant West Siberian Yuzhno-Russkoye gas field to Germany's E.On. In return, Gazprom will take over from E.On its 49% interest in Russian company Gerosgaz, which holds nearly 3% of Gazprom shares.The asset swap is expected to close by the end of 2009.
