Gazprom says it plans to explore for and develop gas deposits offshore Israel as part of its drive to expand overseas. The Russian gas giant plans to buy up to 50% of the Is- raeli company that holds the license to the reserves and set up a joint venture, Stanislav Tsygankov, the head of Gazprom's foreign economic department, was quoted as saying Thursday after a meeting of the Russian-Israeli intergovernmental commis- sion in Jerusalem.
