Poland Faces Gas Crisis

Russia and Poland have again failed to renegotiate a new gas agreement that would allow Warsaw to resume normal gas imports from Russia. Observers in Moscow say that with winter gas shortages looming, Warsaw may be forced to ink a last-minute deal with Russia much like the old deal, ignoring as- sertions that it does not comply with Euro- pean Commission law.
